Bilingual Liturgy

How exactly do you conduct a bilingual liturgy with set forms of prayer? It must be possible, since the Diocese of Hong Kong and Macao put out an Order for Holy Communion (聖餐崇拜禮文) in 1965 for bilingual celebrations (pdf facsimile; English only), but I wonder how awkward it is.

Maybe I should ask my dad, who was baptized in an Anglican church in Hong Kong. And anyway, even the Christian and Missionary Alliance Chinese church we attended used to have responsive readings in Chinese-English services, so the problem’s my own foggy memory.
