Paschal Lion Dance

Chinese Christians should have lion dances for Easter – extraliturgically, of course. You know, Lion of Judah. Start taking traditional culture and actually doing something with it for once. I’m sure someone can figure out a ritual form that works, aesthetically and symbolically, for representing the Messiah.

If an oratorio can be a Christian cultural event, maybe this can too. Handel’s Messiah wasn’t written for liturgical use.

Anyway, that’s what I was thinking during my sort-of-not-really-cousin’s wedding feast, since they had a lion dance (which is unusual even for Chinese people).
