Divine Election and Marriage

Who said perfect love was equal? The love of God is perfect, and so God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10.34; Col 3.22–25), yet still Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

But if it’s no flaw for God to love some more than others, how can it be imperfect for men to do the same? At least, though other arguments be valid, the ideal of equal love, so dear to contemporary democracy, is no valid argument that marriage is dissolved in the resurrection.
